Kevin Jacob
Kevin Jacob received his B.S. in Biology and Finance from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He subsequently graduated from UIC College of Medicine at Chicago in 2023. He will be continuing his training in Chicago in Orthopaedic surgery. He has more than 65 peer reviewed publications in the fields of Orthopaedics, is a top percentile scorer in USMLE Step 1 and 2, and has mentored 100s of students since 2020 obtain admission into medical school. In his free time, he enjoys simulation racing, keeping up with formula 1 and NBA, and has traveled to over 25 countries (and counting).
Ravi Tyagi
Ravi is from Naperville, IL and received a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Saint Louis University. He previously worked with pre-medical students to organize a MCAT course, host mock interviews, and arrange networking opportunities for students, physicians, and engineers. He hopes to use his background working with various student groups to help pre-medical students realize their strengths and achieve their potential. His extracurricular interests include serving as an active member of a local music group, hiking, and volunteering.

Alejandro Gonzalez
Alejandro was born in the south side of Chicago and grew up in Cicero, IL. He is the son of Mexican immigrants and the first in his family to attend a university. In 2014 he earned a B.S. in Chemistry with a Biochemistry emphasis from Loyola University Chicago. During his senior year, his team advanced to the regional semi-finals in the Hult Prize entrepreneurial competition with their project in telemedicine. Before starting medical school, Alejandro worked as a chemist in the injectable-pharmaceuticals industry. He is passionate about motivating the next incoming generations of doctors, especially individuals who are minorities and from impoverished backgrounds. In his spare time Alejandro loves to read, lift weights, and train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Lara Hovsepian-Ruby
Lara was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She obtained her BA in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley before earning a master’s degree in Physiological Science from UCLA. Prior to medical school, Lara worked as a Teaching Fellow to develop and teach an interdisciplinary course examining the sociological implications of human sexual development. She also spent a year traveling and working as a barista.
Justin DesLaurier
Justin was born in Chicagoland and obtained a BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In his free time, he enjoys music, cooking, and tennis. Before medical school, Justin worked as an EMT for a private ambulance service.
Victor Qiao
Victor was raised in the northern suburbs of Chicago. He obtained his BS in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2018. He enjoys swimming, watching TV, and cooking in his spare time. Victor is passionate sharing his experiences with others, and looks forward to aiding other future physicians at AdmitRx.
