Admissions
StrategiesPart of the
strategy for applying to medical
school is trying to optimize your
chances of acceptance by choosing
schools which best fit your
potential and professional goals.
With the high cost of primary and
secondary applications, it is
imperative that prospective students
apply to the schools best suited to
their academic background and
qualifications. When applying to
medical schools, "more" doesn't
necessarily mean "better".
"The data indicates little
difference in acceptance rates for
these applying to medical schools.
In 2003, of those who applied to
seven to nineteen allopathic
schools, 53% were accepted by at
least one school, while those who
applied to more than nineteen
schools had an acceptance rate of
59%. More important than acceptance
rates is choosing schools that match
your specific qualifications and
interests, and have historically
accepted students from your
college."

The
Application Process
While all of the applications
will be similar, no two will be
identical. Therefore, careful
attention should be paid to
directions concerning all sections
of the application. Not only will
this attention to detail save you
time, it will allow you to prepare
more concise and accurate applications.
Also, some TMDSAS, AMCAS, and
AACOMAS schools involve secondary
applications which can add a second
layer of complexity to the process.
AdmitRx can guide you through the
entire application process, from
start to finish, while helping you
ensure that no deadline is missed
and no crucial information is left
out. |
